Take The Time (2023)

Acrylic paint on paper (15cm x 15cm)

This 12-painting piece encourages viewers to take the time to work out if they are all the same drawing and/or if any of the twelve have the exact same colour configuration. This exercise creates movement within us: in our mind, eyes and our bodies. The switching of colours within the static shapes can make our brains feel like computers: scanning the images and forcing us to process each one to detect similarities. A fleeting glance can demand the viewer to stop, wait and engage: what can be discovered if we look and see what is in front of us?
